The VSM Test

There are currently four tests and the Open Tests are free to practice. There is the open test and an open advanced test to check your knowledge and the verification test and the verification advanced test where you receive a Viable System Model testimonial at the end of the test if you pass. The tests were developed and tested by VSM Experts. To prepare for the test, we currently recommend studying the VSM Guide and taking the Open Tests to learn. For Students the Verification Tests are both free of charge - please contact us.


Open Test 
A free test with 30 questions and as many attempts as you want to learn the VSM. To pass this test, 85% of the questions must be answered correctly.

Verification Test - Viable System Model
A test with 60 questions and 2 attempts in 30 minutes. To pass the test, 85% of the questions must be answered correctly. After passing the test, you will receive a Viable System Model verification document from SCiO and demonstrate your fundamental theoretical knowledge of VSM. You can now share you approved knowledge.

Verification Details: 

  • 50 € for two Attempts (70 % goes to ME/ Resarch Foundation)
  • Passing Score: 85%
  • Time Limit: 30 Minutes 
  • Questions: 60 
  • Format: Multiple Choice, Multiple Answer: True/False
  • Practice: Open Test, VSM Guide

A free test with 15 questions and as many attempts as you want to learn the advanced VSM. To pass this test, 85% of the questions must be answered correctly.

A test with 30 questions and 2 attempts in 30 minutes. To pass the test, 85% of the questions must be answered correctly. After passing the test, you will receive a Viable System Model ADVANCED verification document from SCiO and demonstrate your advanced theoretical knowledge of VSM. You can now share you approved knowledge.

70 % of the test income goes to ME/ CFS Research Foundation

The SCIO is a non-profit organization, which is why 70% of the test income is donated to the prestigious ME/ CFS Research Foundation.
